Safe loading tips
Put heavy boxes at the bottom and in the middle. Keep the load below handle height so you can see ahead. Push, do not pull, wherever possible. Slow down on ramps and at corners. Never ride on the trolley or let children play on it.
Where hospitals use platform trolleys
Stores, pharmacies, CSSD, kitchens and laundry all move heavy goods daily. A trolley cuts lifting injuries and saves staff time. Keep one per department to stop staff carrying cartons by hand. Label trolleys by department so they come back after use.
Measuring before you buy
Measure your largest regular carton and your narrowest doorway or lift door. The deck should hold the carton, and the trolley must pass the door. Check ramps and floor surfaces too, since small wheels struggle on rough ground.
Care and usage tips
- Wipe the deck after spills.
- Check wheels monthly.
- Stay within the load limit.
- Fold and store upright.
Frequently asked questions
What is a platform trolley used for?
It moves heavy boxes and supplies on a flat deck with wheels. Hospitals use it in stores, pharmacies, kitchens and laundry. Warehouses, shops and offices use it for deliveries. It cuts lifting and carrying, which prevents back injuries. Choose stainless steel for wet areas.
How much weight can a platform trolley carry?
It depends on the model. Our foldable stainless steel trolley carries about 300 kg. Spread the load evenly and keep heavy items low. For heavier loads, ask us about industrial trolleys with larger wheels. Never overload a trolley, as wheels can fail.
Is a foldable trolley strong enough?
Yes, when used within its rating. The folding part is the handle, not the deck. Check the hinge and wheel bolts monthly. Fold it only when empty, and lock the handle upright before loading. Replace worn wheels quickly to keep it safe.
