The hydrocolloid layer absorbs fluid and forms a soft gel over the wound. This gel keeps the bed moist and protects new tissue. When the gel reaches the indicator line, it is time to change.
Use it in hospitals, wound clinics, nursing homes and home care, as advised by a nurse or doctor.

Why does the dressing look like it has pus under it?
The hydrocolloid turns into a pale, yellow gel as it absorbs fluid. This often looks like pus and may smell a little on removal. It is normal. Clean the wound with saline and check it. Tell a doctor if redness, fever or a bad smell persists.
Can I shower with a DuoDERM dressing?
Yes. The outer film is waterproof, so a short shower is fine. Pat the dressing dry afterwards. Avoid soaking it in a bath. Replace it if the edges lift or water gets under it. We confirm stock and pack size with your quote.
